This one was a battle all night. The Yankees jumped out front but the Sox answered right back to take a 2-1 lead, it looked like the Sox had a handle on the game when Chris Kelly hit a 3 run bomb for a Sox 6-2 lead, but the Yankees battled back as they have done all year cutting the Sox lead to 6-4 in the 7th. Pete Schourek came on to try to get the last 6 outs and preserve the win but the Yanks put one across in the 9th and got the tying run to second before falling short and the Sox prevailed and move on to the Championship.
