Welcome to the 2nd season of Blue & Gray Baseball, we had a succesful 1st season which produced some highly competitive games. There was such good competition that the play-off teams were not decide till the last week of the season.
Once the play-offs started the first wild-card between the 1st Horizon Blues and the Northern Virginia Red Sox game went 11 innings before a winner was decided, there was more drama in the second round as the Blues and the Potomac Brewers went through 3 hard fought games before the Brewers came out on top to head to the Championship series against the Prince William Yankees.
The Championship series proved even bettor as Game one had several lead changes and took 13 innings to decide in favor of the Yankees. Game 2 was just as tight going into the late innings and the Yankees prevailed again to take the series and the Blue & Gray Championship.
As previously mentioned the play-off teams were not decided till the last week of the season this produced a great Tier II championship series that several games were one run afairs. The Tier II Championship final game between the Northern Virginia Dodgers and the Fredericksburg Seminoles saw the Dodgers win 1-0 but not before they the Seminole tying run was thrown out at the plate to secure the Dodger win and Championship.
We are looking forward to continued success for all the returning and new clubs for the 2007 Season.
