The Virginia Diamondbacks got their first win Wednesday night against the Novec Nationals 11-8 at Pfitzner Stadium.

 

Mike Manduzio's 3 run Home Run got the Dbacks back in the game after giving the Nationals a 4-0 cushion in the first 2 innings . Pitcher Steve Gonzalez , outfielder Justin Brown , and outfielder/ss Keith Eyerman all had 2 RBI's a piece to help with their first win of the season.  Catcher Ryan Parent went 3-4 with an RBI , and 3B Jeff Tourne' also had 2 hits and an RBI.  All Dback runs were scored with 2 outs .

 

Steve Gonzalez (1-1) got his first win as a Dback going 7 innings and striking out 8 .  Mike Manduzio came on in the 8th inning to record his first save , getting 6 outs from the 7 batters he faced. 

 

The "Sports Center" web jem of the game goes to Keith Eyerman's triple-play in the 8th inning with the Nationals threatening to take back the lead .  This was the second triple-play this season for the Dbacks.

 

Next up for the Virginia Diamondbacks , the Prince William Yankees Thursday night June 5th at Douglas-marshall Stadium/Freedom HS.
