Fredericksburg, VA---June 16th
2007
This
game came down to the Dodgers' final at-bat. The Dodgers
spotted the Seminoles 3 unearned runs in the first and
eventually trailed 5-1. A three-run 6th left the Dodgers
down 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th -- and final -- inning.
Catcher Matt Klancer led off with a double and pinch-runner
Nate Hartman moved to 3rd on a passed ball. CF John
Blaeuer's squeeze bunt a few pitches later scored Hartman
and tied the game. After 2B Bryant Burns' sac bunt went
for a hit, SS Bobby Buttgereit's ensuing sac bunt won the
game as the Seminole third baseman threw the ball away and
allowed Blaeuer to dash home with the winning run. John
Bigley went the distance on the hill to earn a thrilling 6-5
win.
