The Blue & Gray All-Stars scored in all but one
inning and drubbed the visiting DC Wood All-Stars 12-3 at Prince William Stadium
Monday Night.
B&G got off to a 4 run lead in the bottom of the
1st as lead-off man Jeremy Glaspy of the Virginia Diamondbacks bunted his way
aboard , stole second and came around to score on a throwing error, 4 walked
batters later , Devon Ewell of the First Horizon Blues tripled home the
4th run of the inning.
In the B&G second 3 more runs were plated on the
strength of Jeff Fox, (NV Red Sox) and Frankie Ramirez (Potomac Brewers)
Doubles.
Fox drove home another run in the 3rd scoring Wandi
Rodriquez of the Quantico Bulldogs. DC Wood finally put a run on the board in
the 4th after an error by the B&G defense and more in the 5th on another
error.
In the home forth PH Logan Springer (NOVEC
Nationals) stepped to the plate and launched a solo homerun to left to make it
8-1 B&G over DC Wood at the time. B&G went ahead 9-3 when PH/CF Dean Brown
(Fredericksburg Seminoles) singled home Steve Hastings (Meadows Farms). Hasting
batted in a run in the B&G 7th grounding out but scoring fellow teammate Steve
Nash (Meadows Farms). Dean Brown finished the scoring stealing home in the
bottom of the 8th for the B7G 12 run and eventual final 12-3.
Todd Musher, (Manassas Mets) opened on the Hill for
B&G working 3 innings, striking out 3 surrendering no runs and no hits to earn
the win. The B&G pitching Staff, Musher, David Beckner (PW Yankees) 1ip, 1
unearned run, 2 hits, Chris Behrens, (Meadows Farms) 3 ip, 2 runs, 1 earned,
2 hits and 5 K's, Steve Hall, (Quantico Bulldogs) 1 ip, 1 hit, 0 runs, and GT
Hitt (Fredericksburg Seminoles) 1 ip, 0 runs, 0 hits, staff scattered 5
hits and allowed only 1 earned run over 9 innings of work.
