18, 10005The offense exploded early as the Mets hung 3
in the top of the first on a 3 run HR by Mat Huff. The Sox answered in the
bottom, plating 4 of their own by scattering a few hits among several walks, as
the Mets starter struggled to find the plate. The offense cooled after the
first, though, as the Sox starter found his groove and Todd Musher came on in
relief for the Mets, going 8 innings for the Win. The Red Sox were able to push
across a couple insurance runs in the 2nd and 3rd, but it turned out not to be
enough when the Mets rallied behind a 2 run HR by Marcello Trejo in the 7th, and
a 2 RBI double by Johnny Gordon in the 8th.
Musher went 8 innings for the Win
